How to customize an Advanced Captions preset
Start with a preset close to the result you want. Apply it to a sample caption and check both a short phrase and a long phrase before reusing the design across a project.
Customize one caption
In the Advanced Captions workspace, apply a preset to the caption, then open Personalize caption. This is useful for a specific moment that needs a different layout or emphasis.
Personalizing a caption and saving a reusable preset are different actions. Use Create and apply preset when you want to save the design for reuse. Apply to 1 caption applies the change only to the caption being edited.
Change the text style
Select a text block in the editor, then open Style. Adjust the available font, color and text effects. Select the text block itself to change typography: a group controls layout and group animation, and its Style tab can be disabled.
If a font is missing, install it on the computer used for caption generation and restart AutoCut. Check the preview again before importing.
Adjust the layout
Use Layout to arrange the text blocks and groups. Check the layout in the aspect ratio of your sequence. Longer sentences may wrap differently from the short sample text, so review several captions.
Adjust animations and sounds
Use Animation to configure how the selected element moves or appears. Use Sounds for the sound controls available in the preset. Preview the timing and listen to the result; a visual preview alone cannot confirm sound levels.
Save a reusable version
Click Create and apply preset and give the edited design a recognizable name. Find it in your Private presets, apply it to the intended chunks and review the result. Saving a preset makes the design reusable; it is not the same action as importing captions into Premiere Pro.
