How to Install new fonts for AutoCaptions

AutoCaptions uses the fonts available on your computer. If you’d like to customize your subtitles with a new font, you’ll need to install it on your system first.
One of the easiest and most reliable ways to do this is by using Google Fonts — a free library of high-quality, open-source fonts.

Steps to install a new font

  1. Visit Google Fonts

Go to Google Fonts and explore the different styles available.

  1. Download the Font

Click on “Download family” to get the font as a ZIP file.

  1. Install the Font
  • Double-click the ZIP file to unzip it.
  • Double-click the font file to open it in the Font Book app.
  • In Font Book, click “Install Font.”

The font is now available across your Mac — including in AutoCut Captions.

Customize your captions with style

Once your font is installed, you’ll find it listed directly in the AutoCaptions settings. This lets you create subtitles that match your brand, project style, or personal taste.

⚠️ Remember to respect font licensing and usage rights, especially when using fonts for commercial purposes.
