How to become an AutoCaptions Expert ?
Tips for Mastering AutoCaptions
Discover our best practices to make the most of AutoCaptions and generate high-quality captions that enhance your videos.
Tip 1 : Create Your Own Presets
We highly recommend creating your own AutoCaptions presets. Not only does this save valuable time across projects, it also helps you build a consistent and recognizable visual identity.
Thanks to the wide range of customization options — fonts, colors, animations, outlines, and more — you can design captions that truly reflect your style.
Want to inspire others? Feel free to share your presets with the AutoCut community so other users can discover your creative approach.
Suggested Workflow
For the best results, follow this workflow:
- Set Your Style First
Customize your parameters (font, size, colors, outline, text box, etc.) before importing captions.
- Import Captions
Once imported, you’ll see how the captions appear in your timeline — this gives you a real-time visual reference.
- Return to the Transcript Editor
After import, you can jump back into the editor to make refinements while seeing how your changes apply on the timeline.
- Re-cut and Adjust
With the captions in place, it's easier to fine-tune word splits, merge blocks, or fix timing based on the actual video playback in Premiere Pro.
Tip 2 : Use Captions as Titles
Want to create dynamic intro titles?
You can generate a transcript from a single word or sentence, enlarge it, and position it in the center of the screen to create animated titles.
If needed, you can remove the original audio afterward to keep only the visual impact.
Tip 3 : Use Find & Replace
AutoCaptions includes a Find & Replace function to quickly fix recurring errors or word variations across your transcript.
For example, if “AutoCut” was transcribed as “AutoCAD,” you can correct all instances in just one click.
