How to cancel an AutoCut process after it has been applied?

When you run an AutoCut feature (Silences, AutoZoom, Captions, Repeat, etc.), the changes are applied directly to your timeline. If you want to undo or cancel what AutoCut just did, there are two possible cases, depending on when you act.
This article explains how to revert an AutoCut process safely.

Option 1: Restore immediately after the process

Right after AutoCut finishes a process, you will see the Restore backup button. This is the fastest and easiest way to cancel what was just applied.

How it works
  • As soon as the process is completed, AutoCut creates a temporary backup
  • Clicking 'Restore backup' will revert your timeline to its previous state
  • This fully cancels the last AutoCut action

Important
  • This option is only available immediately after the process
  • If you close AutoCut or run another feature, this button disappears.

Option 2: Use the AutoCut Backup folder

If you:

  • closed AutoCut
  • restarted your editing software
  • tested another AutoCut feature

then Restore backup is no longer available. In this case, you need to use the AutoCut Backup system.

How it works
  • Open the AutoCut Backup folder
  • Find the version created before the process you want to undo. AutoCut backups are always saved using the following format:** AutoCut-Backup<||>[Sequence name]<||>[Date and time]**
  • Restore that version in your editing software

This allows you to go back in time, even after multiple AutoCut actions.

AutoCut backups are created automatically, no setup required. These backups let you recover older versions of your timeline and cancel a specific process.
