AutoCut Silences automatically detects and removes silent parts from your timeline making your edits tighter, faster, and more dynamic in just one click.

Watch our YouTube tutorial to get started :

Step 1 : Launch AutoCut Silences & Define sections

Just according to your needs and confirm your choice.

Step 2 : Adjust noise level

You can manually set the noise level, which is crucial for detecting silences. Any sound below this threshold will be considered silence.
For an optimized workflow, use the 'Calculate by AI' option to automatically set the appropriate decibel level with AI assistance.

For more detailed options, check out the AutoCut Silences settings.

Step 3: Set up the silence duration

Set the durations of silence and speech to keep or remove.

  • "Remove silences longer than": Determine the minimum duration (in seconds) of silence to remove. If the silence is shorter, it will be kept.

→ Use this setting to avoid removing silences that are too short.

  • "Keep talks longer than": Set the minimum duration (in seconds) of sound to keep. If the sound is shorter, it will be removed.

→ This setting allows you to exclude very short sounds like a cup being put down or an accidental bump on the microphone.

Step 4: Margin

Set the margin around each cut for a more natural edit.

Set the padding

💡 Margin helps avoid cutting the beginning or end of a sentence, making the video edit smoother.

Step 5: Silence management & Transition

Choose how to manage the detected silences. We recommend using the "Remove Silences" option that fits most edits. Then, select the transition to apply to each cut.
