# Step 1 - Launch AutoCut Repeat & Define the audio section

Before running AutoCut Repeat, you need to define the audio section you want to analyze using **AutoCut Repeat**. You can choose between:
* Entire timeline
* In/Out points
* Selected clips
This helps the tool focus on the part of your timeline where the content actually matters.

# Step 2 - Set the audio language + Reference Script

To improve transcription and repetition detection accuracy, choose the language spoken in your audio.

If you already have a script or outline, you can paste it into the 'Reference Script' field. This helps AutoCut Repeat:
* Match each sentence with your script
* Detect the **best take** when you record multiple versions
* Stay accurate even if you **rephrase slightly** while speaking

**Reference Script Options**
* **Disabled (default)**
AutoCut uses the standard repetition detection algorithm.
* **Enabled**
Import your script to improve matching accuracy and automatically select the best takes.

# Step 3 - Repeat Settings

AutoCut Repeat offers four options to control how repetitions are handled:
* **Remove non-selected parts (recommended)**
Removes the selected repetitions and closes the gaps automatically.
* **Cut but Keep everything**
Cuts repetitions but keeps them in the timeline (useful for manual review).
* **Mute non-selected parts**
Mutes repetitions but keeps them in the timeline.
* **Remove non-selected parts**
Removes repetitions but keeps spacing in the timeline.

You can also add a margin before and after each kept segment. You can customize the margin duration to fit your editing style.

# Step 4 - Review & Edit the repetition detection

AutoCut has detected repeated segments. Now it’s your turn to decide which parts to keep or remove.

###### How to edit the transcript:
* Use your **mouse** to highlight words or sentences.
* **White text** = Enabled → This part will be kept in the final cut.
* **Red strikethrough text** = Disabled → This part will be removed.

###### Transcript control options:
* **T icon (preview mode)**: Only plays the audio of selected (enabled) phrases.
* **Play button**: Plays the full video.
* **Playback speed**: Watch your transcript at different speeds – x1, x1.2, x1.5, x1.7, or x2 – to go through it faster.

This step gives you full control over what gets cut before applying any changes.

# Step 5 - Cut Sequence

Once you're happy with the selection, click **"Cut sequence"**.
AutoCut Repeat will make the cuts for you, automatically removing repetitions based on your settings.
