# How to use AutoCut Angles

AutoCut Angles automates camera switching for a single-speaker video while keeping you in control of the timing, camera balance, and final timeline.

### Step 1: Prepare and select your timeline

Place your synchronized or aligned angles on separate video tracks, with the speaker's voice on an audio track.

1. Open **AutoCut Angles**.
2. Select the part of the timeline you want to process.
3. Include the linked audio track in your selection.
4. Choose **Entire timeline** or **In/Out points**.
5. Click **Validate sections**.

||| ⚠️ AutoCut Angles does not align or synchronize your source clips. Prepare that alignment before starting the process.

### Step 2: Choose the voice and camera tracks

Under **Voice audio track**, select the track that contains the speaker's voice. AutoCut analyzes this track to decide when a camera switch can happen.

Under **Camera tracks**, select each video track that should be available as an angle.

### Step 3: Set camera priority

Drag the separators under **Priority** to bias how often each camera is selected. Give more space to the main angle and less to occasional close-ups or side shots.

|| 💡 Priority is relative. It guides the result but does not guarantee an exact percentage of screen time.

### Step 4: Choose switch triggers

Enable one or more triggers:

* **Existing cuts** respects cuts already placed on the camera tracks.
* **Silences** switches when the speaker pauses or starts a new sentence.
* **Emotion (AI)** detects spikes in emotional intensity.
* **Transcript (AI)** finds natural transcript moments such as topic shifts or punchlines.

The enabled triggers are combined. See [What triggers a camera switch in AutoCut Angles?](https://knowledge.autocut.com/en/article/what-triggers-a-camera-switch-in-autocut-angles-1p604g7/) for a detailed explanation.

### Step 5: Set the shot duration

Use **Shot duration** to set the minimum time before another trigger can switch the camera. A minimum of **2–3 seconds** is a useful starting point when you want to avoid an overly jumpy edit.

### Step 6: Choose the output

For a direct timeline edit:

* Choose **Disable** to keep inactive clips available for later adjustments. This is the recommended option for a reversible workflow.
* Choose **Remove** to delete inactive clips from the edited sections.
* Enable **Also cut audio** if the voice track should be cut at the same switch points.
* Click **Start Camera Switch**.

For a non-destructive multicam workflow, enable **Multi-Camera editing** and click **Start Camera Switch - Multi-Camera**.

### Step 7: Review the result

Play through the edit and refine any camera choice or cut timing you want to change. AutoCut creates a first edit that is ready for your creative review.

|| 💡 A useful workflow is **AutoCut Silences → AutoCut Angles → AutoZoom**: remove pauses first, switch angles second, then add dynamic zooms.
