# Direct editing vs Multi-Camera editing in AutoCut Angles

AutoCut Angles offers two ways to build your edit. Choose **direct editing** when you want cuts applied to the selected tracks, or **Multi-Camera editing** when you want a non-destructive multicam sequence that is easy to refine.

### Direct editing

Direct editing applies the camera switches to the selected video tracks.

Under **Inactive camera clips**, choose:

* **Disable** — inactive clips remain in the timeline but are turned off. This is recommended when you expect to adjust the edit later.
* **Remove** — inactive clips are deleted from the processed sections for a cleaner timeline.

Enable **Also cut audio** if AutoCut should cut the selected voice track at every camera switch point.

Use direct editing when you prefer working with the original stacked tracks and want the option to reveal disabled clips manually.

### Multi-Camera editing

Enable **Multi-Camera editing** to use your editor's native multicam workflow. AutoCut keeps the original footage in place and creates a multicam sequence above the timeline.

In Premiere Pro:

1. Double-click the multicam section you want to change.
2. Open the multicam view in the Program Monitor.
3. Click the camera you want to display.
4. Use the **Rolling Edit Tool** if you want to move a cut without breaking the edit.

Use Multi-Camera editing when you want fast camera substitutions after AutoCut runs or prefer a compact, non-destructive timeline.

### Which workflow should you choose?

* Choose **Direct editing + Disable** for a transparent, track-based edit with easy access to every source clip.
* Choose **Direct editing + Remove** when you want inactive material removed from the processed sections.
* Choose **Multi-Camera editing** for the fastest camera changes after automation.

Both workflows are available for AutoCut Angles in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The detailed click-by-click multicam steps above describe Premiere Pro; use your editor's multicam view for the equivalent refinement workflow.
