# Advanced Captions troubleshooting in Premiere Pro

## Advanced Captions asks me to restart Premiere Pro
Save your project and fully close Premiere Pro, then reopen it and return to AutoCut. Advanced Captions installs components that Premiere Pro needs to load. Completing the download alone does not replace the requested restart.
## Setup failed
Use Try again on the setup screen. If the failure repeats, keep the exact error message and contact AutoCut support with your operating system, Premiere Pro version and AutoCut version. Do not keep reinstalling unrelated components or delete your project to troubleshoot a setup error.
## Apply preset is disabled
Check that a transcript is loaded and that at least one caption chunk is selected. If you selected no chunks, select the intended chunk or use the all-chunks selection, then open Apply preset again.
## Import into Premiere Pro is disabled
Check that there is text to import and that a preset has been applied. A newly translated language can have no preset even when the original language is already styled. Select the translated chunks and apply a preset. Wait for any ongoing loading or setup operation. Read the message next to the import control: it identifies the step that must be completed.
## A caption is outside the frame
Use the reset-position action for the affected caption. Check its preset, selection scope and preview aspect ratio, then reposition it and preview again.
## I cannot change a group's font
Select a text block and open Style. Groups control layout and group animation; text typography is edited on a text block.
## A font is missing
Install the required font on the computer used for generation, then restart AutoCut. Reopen the preset and check the preview before importing again.
## Captions are missing after import
Check the active Premiere Pro sequence and the time range where captions should appear. Check video-track visibility and whether another video layer covers the captions. If the result is still missing, record whether the process completed or showed an error and contact support with the exact message and a screenshot of the timeline.
## My exported SRT has no animations
This is expected: SRT carries text and timestamps, not the Advanced Captions visual design. Import the captions into Premiere Pro and export your video to render the animated result.
## What should I send support?
Include the action that failed, the exact error, operating system, Premiere Pro and AutoCut versions, sequence format and whether the issue affects every preset or just one. Start with a short reproducible example. Share project files or private footage only if needed and requested.
